O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A… Oklahoma!

Coldwater, MI is a little, old town with a beautiful theater with a VERY talented staff of artists and professionals. Kevin Helpin and Cheryl Van Duzen directed and music directed the charm right outta the beautiful score and script of Roger’s and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! They allowed me, this curless Curly, a part in telling this classic, golden-age, American musical love story–An experience I won’t soon forget.Continue Reading

Reviews – Oklahoma!

This production [of Oklahoma!] had some very strong musical talent that was highlighted by the two lead characters. “Laurey” played by Catherine Skojec and “Curly” played by Taylor Eliason were outstanding. Not only are they musically gifted, but their acting skills created the necessary chemistry to tell a love story like this.”

Taylor Eliason and Catherine Skojec lead the way as Curly and Laurey… Eliason brings a joy to Curly that has you rooting for him as soon as his melodious voice sounds from the back of the theater. They have a great chemistry, which weaves tension into every tease and kiss. “People Will Say We’re in Love” is truly a sigh-able moment.”

My mom’s side of the family, the Taylors (from whence I received my name), are quite a large group. We tried to get everyone there in person but we’re able to get everyone there. SO, I was tasked to make it seem that way. For fun… click on an image and then toggle between the two pictures by pressing the forward and backward arrows. Enjoy!

Legally Blonde, directed by Phil Shelburne, was a coming home for me. I’m from Vegas, so it was a lot of fun to play to my friends. Playing opposite Alison Thompson every night was a real blast. She was so spunky and so fun to work off of. We became quick friends. This role was familiar because I’m a bit like Emmett. I just can’t be bothered with trends or fashion. Hand me downs will do just fine.

Side Show posed a unique struggle in a couple different ways. It was the first show in the small, old Echo Theater with this big of a cast. It was also the first show produced by the newly-formed Utah Rep headed by Johny Hebda. Many responsibilities fell to the cast, so I had the chance to actually choreograph Buddy’s tap number “One Plue One Equals Three.” No promises on it being any good but I had fun doing it!

Reviews – Side Show –

Russell WarneTaylor Eliason was energetic and fun as Buddy Foster. I enjoyed how the character yearned for fame and a big break in show business, and his duet “More Than We Bargained For” with Arteaga was well executed. Eliason was also excellent at portraying the emotional dilemma that his character had of falling in love with a woman that he could never have for himself.”

Review – Liken’s The First Christmas

Christian Cragun[Patterson]  seemed entirely fearless … I’m sure that part of that confidence came from working with Taylor Eliason and Andrea Jakeman, who played Amelia’s parents. Eliason, Jakeman, and Patterson had a great relationship on stage that seemed entirely natural; I was able to really feel a connection between them.”

2012 • Man • A Shared Life • Echo Theater • Provo, UT

08/01/2012 by Taylor Eliason

Cast and Director:writerFrom newlyweds to widower, A Shared Life, written and directed by Chase Ramsey, follows the ups and downs of a marriage amidst work, family and even enduring the loss of a child. Sharing the stage with the beautiful and giving Cherielyn Julander was so natural and easy. What an honor it was to play a part in the workshop and premiere performance of such a wonderful piece.

Review – A Shared Life – Provo’s Echo Theatre Delights with the Echo 10

SharedLifeReview… these two actors [brought] every inch of realism [to] their performances…The joys [and] the heartbreaking sadness as they “aged” from young love to old age and beyond. My son asked [Eliason] how he brought so much to his character, who experiences tragic loss. [Eliason] said he watched his mother lose a child and took that feeling and used it in his character development. Both actors were flawless.”
